American Idol 2023 Contestants: The Top 12 Performers Heading to Hollywood

The top 20 competitors gave live performances and voting results from the previous night determined which 10 Idol hopefuls will advance to the next stage. At 8pm Sunday evening, America was treated to the Top 20 being performed for America’s vote. On Monday morning viewers had until 9 am ET/6 am PT to cast their vote and see who made it into the Top 12. At 8:05 WE ANI was officially named one of 12 contestants moving onto the next round; fittingly as it had taken her all night to find out that she made it into the Top 20, yet only finally learned of this fact at 8 am Monday morning! In honor of this momentous occasion she begins singing “This Is Me” from “The Greatest Showman”.

At 8:10 and 8:20 respectively, Michael Williams and HANNAH NICOLAISEN took to the stage to perform their respective sets. Michael Williams soon realized he was placed in the danger zone, performing Jvke’s golden hour song as an attempt to convince judges he should continue performing. Hannah Nicolaisen followed suit performing Lorde’s “Royals” before sitting down – making this final effort from Hannah in keeping herself in contention even when her fate seemed precarious.

Warren Peay and Mariah Faith performed at 8:23 and 8:27 pm respectively, and results have shown Warren to be one of the top 12. After exhaling a long breath of relief, Warren went on to provide entertainment for the audience by performing an accurate cover of 3 Doors Down’s “It’s Not My Time”. On the other hand Mariah Faith discovered she would be placed into danger; to save herself she performed If It Hadn’t Been for Love by The Steel Drivers as her cover act.
At 8:30 and 8:35 respectively, Haven Madison and Nailyah Serenity had their opportunity. Haven was the next musician to discover she wasn’t in danger by performing her original song titled “15.” Unfortunately for Nailyah Serenity though, as after performing Sia’s “Alive”, Katy told her she was indeed a star – creating hope amongst judges that maybe Nailyah can be saved.
Musicians such as PAIGE ANNE, MATT WILSON, TYSON VENEGAS and COLIN STOUGH performed brilliantly between 8:45 pm and 9:00 pm. Of the contestants including MARYBETH BYRD, KAEYRA, OLIVER STEELE, OLIVIA SOLI, IAM TONGI ZACHARIAH SMITH LUCY LOVE MEGAN DANIELLE and JENNIFER HOLLIDAY only some managed to break into the top 12 spots.
Judges are tasked with choosing two artists from among ten who are at risk, Lucy and Nutsa have been selected as winners! Our congratulations go out to both of them on attaining such an prestigious prize!
