BJP targets Kejriwal over women’s safety, AAP govt in Punjab; Addressing the Issue of Evasion
Recent reports of a young girl being pulled from a car and killed have generated much discussion and outrage from various political parties in Delhi, such as Aam Aadmi Party, BJP, and Congress, prompting questions and statements regarding safety for girls living there. Malviya tweeted that Kejriwal should not give up hope on women’s safety in Delhi and noted how even in Punjab where Aam Aadmi Party is in power and their police report to them, women remain unsafe there. Malviya stressed the difference between running an effective government and engaging in short-cut tactics.
Delhi Police report directly to the Central Government’s Ministry of Home Affairs rather than to the Union Territory Government which has come under criticism for assigning responsibility for crimes committed within its boundaries to opposition members or critics – something which often happens with Aam Aadmi Party governing Delhi while the BJP leads centrally.
