Reports indicate that people are concerned about both the severity and number of casualties caused by Wednesday evening’s collapse of a seven-story building on Banana Island, Ikoyi. But according to Lagos State Government officials, no deaths have resulted from it.

Gbenga Omotoso, Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, addressed the public on this incident and state government investigations following Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s directive.

As per her report, 25 people had been rescued from the site at that point with no signs of anyone stuck under debris; Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA conducted 3-D Laser Imagery Scans of building to make sure nobody was trapped beneath rubble.
