Is Arvind Kejriwal Arrested? CBI Summons Delhi CM For Liquor Scam
CBI summons Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to questioning
Delhiites and all across the nation were left shocked upon hearing news that Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, has been summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Social media posts suggesting otherwise were also circulated; one was even spread that Kejriwal had been arrested; however this information disproves this rumor; please read further for more details.
Is Arvind Kejriwal Arrested or not?
Arvind Kejriwal was first thrust into the public’s consciousness when the CBI issued a notice summoning him for questioning on April 14, 2023 in connection with an excise policy case. We wish to stress that Kejriwal has not been arrested; rather, he has only been summoned for questioning by them; we want to disprove such false reports so as not to cause unnecessary panic and confusion amongst citizens. Currently he hasn’t been arrested but charges could come his way over time – which we want disprove so people don’t panic and confusion among them in coming days if possible.
Details of CBI Summons
The Central Bureau of Investigation has summoned Arvind Kejriwal for questioning on April 16 at 11 am on Sunday morning. Meanwhile, Manish Sisodia remains detained since being arrested on February 26 for his suspected role in formulating and implementing last year’s now scrapped Delhi Excise Policy.
Judicial Custody of Manish Sisodia
Manish Sisodia was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), and will remain in judicial custody until April 17. A hearing for his bail plea was scheduled on April 12; its outcome remains unknown. Many Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, such as Arvind Kejriwal, have denied charges against Sisodia as well as any wrongdoing with regard to liquor policy issues – yet the CBI has issued summonses against Kejriwal in relation to same matters.
