Illness Postpones Sam Smith’s UK Concerts
Sam Smith’s performances in Glasgow and Birmingham have been postponed due to illness. The singer let fans know on April 24 that the performance, which was originally scheduled to occur at Birmingham Resort World Arena on April 25, will now take place there on May 27.
Tickets from the original performance date are still valid for the rescheduled event. In an official statement published on their Facebook page, Sam Smith disclosed that they and their team had become “really unwell” as a result of a virus they had all contracted.
They apologized to their fans for postponing the performances and provided an explanation for why their health prevented them from giving the “Gloria” tour their all.
Smith made no mention of the exact illness that they, their staff, and they were suffering from at the time of the announcement. Smith’s next performance is still set for April 29, 2023, at Copenhagen’s Royal Arena, despite the postponements, and there has been no official word to the contrary.
