India’s longest-serving Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Ganga Vilas river cruise on Friday, January 13th. This state-of-the-art luxury vessel will set sail from Varanasi for 3200 km before disembarking at Dibrugarh and continuing onto Bangladesh over 51 days. Made exclusively in Varanasi and equipped with facilities befitting of five-star hotel standards, Narendra Modi will unveil this special cruise.

32 Tourists from Switzerland were onboard for its inaugural voyage

As part of his inauguration of ‘tent city’ on the banks of Ganga in Varanasi, Prime Minister Modi will also lay foundation stones of several other inland waterway projects totalling over Rs 1000 crore. According to PMO reports, Ganga Vilas cruiser is equipped with three decks and 18 suites; on its inaugural voyage 32 tourists from Switzerland will enjoy state-of-the-art facilities throughout their journey.
