On Mother’s Day in Boston, Mohamed Fofana went missing while playing near Castle Island’s coastline with his sister near Castle Island’s shore. Mohamed’s grandfather reported him missing, prompting a massive search effort that included state and local police forces as well as marine units, dive teams, air wings, dive teams and dive units to search the island for Mohamed; ultimately his lifeless body was found on Spectacle Island across from Castle Island; at only four years old, Mohamed suffered from sickle cell anemia as well as autism.
