Congress Engages in Linking Opposition With Bharat Joro Yatra

Congress Speaker Mallikarjun Kharge has extended invitations to 21 political parties that share his outlook, along with India Joro Yatra, for a meeting scheduled to be held in Srinagar on January 30. In his letter addressed to party leaders he stated their presence would enhance its message of truth, compassion, and nonviolence.

Kharge has personally invited all parties to the concluding function of Bharat Joro Yatra on January 30 in Srinagar, which honors Mahatma Gandhi. At this event, participants will take an oath to fight hatred and violence; spread truth, compassion, non-violence as messages; uphold constitutional values like liberty equality fraternity justice for all – which all party representatives pledged their attendance at.

Kharge believes the country is currently facing an existential crisis, with attention increasingly diverted away from problems plaguing ordinary people. He applauded Bharat Joro Yatra as a strong force connecting people despite economic, social, and political crises in their homeland – hoping their presence at its closing ceremony would further underscore this message.

TMC, JDU, Shiv Sena, TDP and National Conference parties were invited. SP, BSP and JMM MPs from RJD as well as CPI, CPM RLSP SPHAM CPI CPM RSPHAM Kerala Congress MDMK VCK PDP NCP and IUML were not. BRS Aam Aadmi Party Badruddin Ajmal Ghulam Nabi Azad were not among them nor AIUDF AIMIM BJD YSRCP or AIADMK either.

The Bharat Joro Yatra kicked off on September 7, in Kanyakumari and is currently in Punjab. Once complete with Punjab coverage, it will pass through Himachal Pradesh before heading towards Jammu and Kashmir and eventually culminating on January 30 in Srinagar with Rahul Gandhi aggressively targeting both BJP and RSS with this Yatra.
